Consolidate your IT Ops Infrastructure with Splunk IT Essentials Work
Author: Carl Parker
Release Date: 28/06/2021
In an effort to simplify their customers’ experience with infrastructure monitoring, Splunk have introduced the IT Essentials Work platform; a centralised app that can support the most common IT Operations use cases.
Whilst users were previously required to manage disparate apps individually for their IT infrastructure, they can now utilise Splunk’s industry leading features more efficiently in one place. This provides IT departments with a much clearer picture of their network, and gives them greater context when attempting to identify any problems. It will also negate any worries surrounding scalability that organisations may have when leveraging a multitude of apps at any one time.
In line with this new platform, and with a new push towards observability, Splunk are bringing comprehensive content packs to increase value and provide support in 2021. In particular, the apps listed below have already been announced, or are on the way:
- VMWare (April 30th)
- Exchange (April 30th)
- Unix & Linux (April 30th)
- AWS (May 5th)
- NetApp (May 5th)
- Windows Infrastructure (July 31st).
Splunk IT Essentials uses the same code base as Splunk’s leading ITOA solution, IT Service Intelligence (ITSI). This provides the crucial benefit of allowing organisations who might be looking to expand their ITOA capabilities to experience what ITSI can offer, before investing. Once more complex use cases have been developed, requiring the more advanced features of ITSI, the upgrade is managed through a simple license update.
Providing a straightforward data ingestion mechanism, an easy set-up experience, scalability and room to upgrade, customers can certainly benefit from utilising IT Essentials Work to monitor across different infrastructure types.
If your organisation is interested in exploring more advanced infrastructure monitoring techniques, and would like more information on ITEW or ITSI, please contact us and we can schedule a discovery session.
