Video Summary

Varonis DataPrivilege simplifies and strengthens the process of managing access to sensitive data by empowering data owners to control permissions directly. It streamlines access requests, reducing the burden on IT departments by allowing managers and appropriate decision-makers to handle their own data access requests. The user-friendly interface enables employees to request specific folder access, along with the desired permission levels, either for themselves or others. DataPrivilege also highlights whether sensitive information is contained within requested folders, helping data owners make informed decisions when approving or declining requests.

Additionally, Varonis supports regular entitlement reviews, prompting data owners to periodically assess who has access to their data and whether any permissions should be revoked. The system employs user behaviour analytics to recommend removing users who are no longer actively using their access, further enhancing data security. In situations where it's unclear who should be assigned as the data owner, Varonis provides insights into the most active users within file shares, making it easy to assign ownership appropriately. These features ensure that data access remains tightly controlled, reducing risks and maintaining security across the organisation.
