Hybrid Cloud Streaming with Confluent and Splunk
Learn how organisations are setting their data in motion with the Confluent Hybrid Cloud Workshop, where real-time data streaming transforms traditional processes into agile, event-driven solutions. This workshop provides hands-on experience in connecting Confluent's on-premises and cloud environments to build a seamless data flow across all business needs, including integrating Confluent with tools like Splunk for advanced visualisation.
The Confluent platform enables businesses to stream data to where it’s needed most, allowing organisations to react in real-time. With tools like ksqlDB, Cluster Linking, and connectors such as the Splunk Sink Connector, you'll learn how to ensure high throughput and low latency across your hybrid or multi-cloud environment. For example, participants will set up a Splunk Sink Connector in Confluent to stream data to Splunk, where it can then be visualised for actionable insights. Whether it’s for driving automation, optimising supply and demand applications, or real-time monitoring, this workshop offers the insight and skills to empower your data journey.
Workshop with Confluent and Somerford
Join us for this exclusive Confluent Hybrid Cloud Workshop led by Somerford’s Sam Ward and Jamie Turbill, both Certified Confluent Technical Experts. Together, they will guide you through a hands-on tour of Confluent’s data streaming tools, showing you how to bridge data across environments with ease and precision.
Complimentary Gift 🏆
UK attendees: As a thank-you for participating in this workshop, you'll receive a £50 Amazon voucher for full attendance, completing the labs, and submitting a short post-event feedback form. Please note that availability is limited, so we encourage you to register early to secure your spot! *This promotion is limited to two registrants per organisation.
Workshop Prerequisite
Ensure your device has the necessary permissions to allow multiple simultaneous SSH connections. Some exercises during the session will require multiple SSH connections to be active simultaneously.
Agenda
- Connecting to Workshop Environment – Set up your unique cloud environment and prepare for the hands-on labs.
- Getting Started with Confluent – Understand core concepts of data streaming and how Confluent facilitates real-time solutions.
- Streaming Events to Confluent Platform – Build a real-time pipeline from Confluent Platform to Confluent Cloud.
- Cluster Linking – Enable seamless data transfer across hybrid and multi-cloud environments with minimal latency.
- Creating Applications with ksqlDB – Learn to leverage ksqlDB to manage and query streams, creating a responsive data environment.
- Data Queries and Monitoring – Query streaming data, create tables, and monitor real-time demand and stock levels.
- Splunk Integration – Set up a Splunk Sink Connector in Confluent to stream real-time data into Splunk and create powerful visualisations for data insights.
- Real-Time Product Demand – Stream "Out of Stock" events and manage current stock levels with efficient data processing.
By the end of the session, you will know how to:
- Implement hybrid and multi-cloud architectures with Confluent’s platform
- Utilise pre-built connectors and link data seamlessly across environments
- Create and manage real-time streaming applications using ksqlDB
- Stream data into Splunk and visualise it for actionable intelligence
Who Should Attend: This workshop is designed for data architects, cloud operators, and engineers looking to deepen their knowledge of real-time data streaming and Confluent's capabilities in hybrid environments, including integration with platforms like Splunk.
