With a presence in multiple international markets, the organisation operates in finance, IT, engineering, healthcare and construct, offering end-to-end talent acquisition solutions. Their services range from candidate sourcing and screening to consulting on workforce planning, talent acquisition strategies and market insights.
Requirements
As part of a strategic initiative to enhance operational efficiency and improve data analytics capabilities, the organisation aimed to transition from an on-premise infrastructure to a fully managed cloud environment. The migration, was a critical step towards achieving greater scalability, optimising system performance and maintaining compliance with evolving security standards.
Beyond cloud migration, security and regulatory compliance were key priorities. The organisation needed to address vulnerabilities such as legacy encryption risks and inconsistent access controls, whilst also meeting specific regulatory requirements, including compliance mandates in different regions. Ensuring secure communication channels and strengthening identity management through Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) were central to the project's success.
Additionally, maximising the return on investment from their analytics platform was essential. The organisation sought to extract greater value from its data, expanding user access while ensuring a structured, secure and compliant framework. With increasing reliance on real-time insights, it was crucial to streamline data visibility, enhance automation and ensure that all users had appropriate level of access to leverage analytics effectively.
Business Challenges
As a global recruitment agency, our client faced multiple challenges as they sought to modernise their data infrastructure. Their existing on-premises setup had limitations in scalability and flexibility, making it difficult to optimise their data analytics capabilities. With the business expanding globally, the need to centralise and secure their data became a top priority.
One of the key hurdles was migrating from their on-premises infrastructure to Splunk Cloud, ensuring that this transition did not disrupt ongoing operations. This required careful planning to maintain performance and data integrity, while also accommodating new users and expanding data volumes.
Additionally, the security of their Splunk platform was a concern. Their vulnerability scanner was flagging signed certificates as a risk and the lack of a clear access control system was leading to inconsistent user permissions. This created vulnerabilities that could potentially expose sensitive data to unauthorised access.
Furthermore, the organisation faced challenges with data visibility across their global teams. They need to maximise the value of their existing Splunk apps and make better use of their data by creating actionable insights for business decision-making. A lack of standardisation and governance in data access, reporting and visualisation also hindered the full potential of their analytics platform.

Security was a critical focus throughout the project. Our team worked closely with the client to design and plan the implementation of TLS encryption, securing Splunk traffic by using RootCA certificates. This would resolve the vulnerability flagged by their scanner and provided the client with a robust, compliant framework for securing their data and communications.
We also helped the organisation achieve greater control over user permissions and access management by implementing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC). This model ensured that only authorised users could access sensitive data and dashboards, streamlining user management and providing an additional layer of security.
To maximise the value of their data, we worked with the client to improve their Splunk deployment by refining their use of Splunk Search Language (SPL), creating more efficient queries and enabling faster insights. We also optimised their dashboards and alerts, ensuring that they were tailored to business needs, easy to interpret and fully actionable for decision making. We helped standardise data collection and visualisation accross global teams, giving everyone appropriate visibility into key metrics and ensuring data integrity through CIM for data normalisation. This enabled more accurate and consistent reporting, regardless of location or team.
Finally, we provided ongoing support thought Augmented Support services, which ensured that the system continued to perform optimally as the organisation scaled. This included troubleshooting, system monitoring and updates to ensure compliance and security were maintained as new users and data sources were integrated into the platform.
