Splunk O11y Cloud Explained: Infrastructure Monitoring (IM)

By leveraging the heat map view, we can quickly pinpoint instances experiencing high CPU usage, allowing for efficient troubleshooting and performance optimisation.

As the demonstration progresses, the video showcases the powerful capabilities of Splunk's metrics pipeline, which aggregates data seamlessly from multiple sources. We utilise the dashboard to explore specific EC2 instances, revealing that a particular instance is experiencing 100% CPU utilisation, indicating a potential bottleneck. Further analysis of log traces within Log Observer Connect uncovers that an outdated service configuration is contributing to the high load. By rolling back to a previous configuration, the team is able to resolve the critical alerts and enhance overall infrastructure performance.
